Cecilia International Choir bestaat sinds 1976.

----------------------------------

The choir started in 1975 when a group of British expatriates in The Hague got together to enjoy singing. Shortly afterwards Malcolm Davies was recruited as conductor of 'The British Choir' and he continued to lead us until his untimely death in 2010.

To reflect its increasing size and international diversity, the choir acquired its present name in 2004. Under new leadership, we now number about 80 members of all ages from many different European countries, North America and even further afield.

The choir performs three concert programmes a year. In December we give a number of Christmas Carol concerts at churches in and around The Hague. In March we arrange a supper concert for friends of the choir and invited guests – each year a theme for this “fun” concert is chosen by popular vote from suggestions made by members. The third concert, in June, is our major work for the year – past pieces have included Haendel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Faure’s Requiem and choral works of a similar nature.
