A semi-staged performance of Henry Purcell's opera
Together with professional soloists and accompanied by professional musicians, the Cecilia International Choir will present a semi-staged performance of Henry Purcell's baroque opera Dido & Aeneas. The opera, which was first performed in 1689, tells of the love of Dido, Queen of Carthage, for the Trojan hero Aeneas, and her despair when he abandons her.
The concert will take place on Friday 30 June 2023 at the Lutherse Kerk, Lutherse Burgwal 7, 2512 CB Den Haag, starting at 20:00 hrs.
