LOBALICE Creative Studio is a small studio in The Hague run by designer and poet Alice Biolchini. I combine poetry, visual art, sound and movement in participatory workshops. Participants make their own work and take it home. Themes start from everyday life and go deeper from there: how we relate to ourselves, to each other, and to the living world around us (social and environmental issues). My workshops are explicitly made for people who think they are not creative. I work in English and Portuguese.

I work on location in The Hague, with adults and young people, combining poetry with visual art, sound and movement. Two kinds of offer: workshops, where participants make their own work, and poetry written live at events.

Workshops

  • Single workshop (2 hours). Around one theme you make a poem and a visual piece. For example What We Leave Behind (objects, waste and reuse) or A Sense of Place (home, neighbourhood and belonging).
  • Workshop series (minimum 4 sessions). A series is booked from four sessions upwards, and can run across a season or a whole year — for TU Delft's Studium Generale an ongoing series is now at 13 sessions. Each session builds on the last, so participants build up a body of their own work. Every session also stands alone, so a participant can join just one.
  • Groups of up to about 15 people. Materials are included and no experience is needed.

Poetry written live

  • At an opening, market, festival or event I write poems on the spot - for a person, a place or a moment. Visitors take the poem home with them.
  • I'm keen to collaborate with musicians and visual artists on this.

I work in English and Portuguese. Collaborations with cultural venues, festivals and other makers are welcome.
