The Cecilia International Choir has a history going back more than 40 years. We are ‘international’ because we embrace both expatriates and Dutch members who have lived and worked abroad. We rehearse in English - and we do not hold auditions.
We have around 60 members divided into soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections. We are proud of our diversity of nationalities and welcome newcomers of all ages. Our core purpose is to enjoy the experience of making good music together. We perform at least three concerts every year. Leading up to our main event at midsummer, we practice hard to perform one or more major choral works, accompanied by professional orchestral musicians and soloists. In December we perform popular traditional carol concerts in The Hague and Amsterdam. The repertoire of Christmas music reflects our national diversity and always includes familiar carols with the congregation invited to join in the singing. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings in the Atrium of the Church of our Saviour located at Bezuidenhoutseweg 157, The Hague from 19:45 until 22:00. More information can be found on our website.
