Vereniging Hofstads JeugdOrkest - The Hague Youth Symphony Orchestra
Hofstads jeugdorkest is opgericht in 1923 door de toen jonge docente Tilly Talboom-Smits. Sinds die tijd is het uitgegroeid tot een bloeiende vereniging met zes orkesten/ensembles waarin bijna 300 jongeren in de leeftijd van 6 tot 25 jaar samen musiceren. Plezier in samenspelen op een zo hoog mogelijk muzikaal niveau staat daarbij voorop.

The Hague Youth Symphony Orchestra (VHJO) – for young people with a passion for music!
The orchestra was set up in 1923 by the young music teacher Ms Tilly Talboom-Smits and is now the oldest youth orchestra in the world! It has since developed into a flourishing association providing music lessons and consisting of eight orchestras/ensembles, where around 300 young people aged between 6 and 25 make music together. Having fun playing together and achieving the highest possible musical standard are important to us.
